Bacon Fudge

My husband, Justin, has been on this “You should add bacon to that” craze. So when a friend asked, for me to make Fudge with no nuts, Justin’s immediately told me, “You should add bacon to that”, and I did, and it was good, very good.

I now have officially jumped on the chocolate and bacon bandwagon, and I couldn’t be happier. Two things I love most (other than cheesecake) are bacon and chocolate. It would make sense to mix the two. Right??? Right. That being said, you really must try it. I never realized how easy fudge was to make. The hardest part of this recipe was cooking the bacon, which was a piece of cake.

I think I just had an epiphany. Chocolate Bacon Cake. Do I dare take it that far? Time will only tell.

My husband has taken it a little farther. While I was cooking the bacon, Justin begged to have a piece, and being the charmer that he is I gave him one. With that one piece, he made a PB&J with Bacon. That just sounds wrong on so many levels, but he insists that it was good. Some people just can’t be helped.

Bacon Fudge

Yields: 1 — 8“x8” pan

Ingredients Volume
Semisweet Chocolate Chips 3 cups (18oz)
Sweetened Condensed Milk 14 oz can
Butter ¼ cup (½ stick)
Sea Salt ¼ tsp
Bacon, cooked and chopped 1 lb
Semisweet Chocolate 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Set ¼ cup of the bacon aside.
  2. Place the 3 cups of chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, salt, and remaining bacon in a sauce pan on medium heat and mix till everything is fully combined.
  • Pour into a well greased 8“x8” dish.
  • Using the  ¼ cup of bacon and sprinkle on top of the fudge. I also sprinkled some course sea salt on top as well.
  • Heat up the 1 cup of chocolate chips in a bowl over a pan of hot water until fully melted. You could also do this part in the microwave.
  • Once fully melted drizzle over the top of your fudge with a spoon or a decorating bag.
